The DendrologyLab works in the fields of Forest Botany, Dendroecology and Forest Landscape Planning, conducting research on the autoecology of tree species and the organization and dynamics of tree populations and forest communities.
Our mission is the study and conservation of forest ecosystems, with special regard to endangered tree species and old-growth forests. Central theme of investigation is the study of tree growth-reproduction / climate relationship with specific application to the bioclimatic organization of Italian forests and the effects of climate changes on their growth. Dendroecology, spatial analysis and GIS technology are integrating parts of our scientific approach to study of natural events.
